a new chapter...

It's just a couple of hours before the beginning of a new month and a new chapter in my life. That's when I will be taking my artistic career more seriously and dedicating a lot more hours to it...a LOT more. Starting tomorrow, my full time job will be glass making. Scary, exciting, unknown...

Did I pick the wrong time to take such a risk? Probably, considering the financial crisis and all the shenanigans going on right now. But hey...I felt it was time and I had to go with my guts. I've been preparing for the transition for quite some time, and to me, there was no turning back.

So...wish me luck!!!

completely remodeled website...

After careful consideration, I decided to change my website...again. This time it was a complete overhaul, and I just uploaded all files tonight.

On the artistic side, I have been playing with silk ribbons and having fun making components for them. I made a glass pendant with a hook to dangle a second bead from it. I think it came out pretty decent. Lots more to come!

My computer crashed...

...and I'm SOOOOOOOOO mad!!! This was supposed to be another productive day (it's my weekend!), but instead of spending my time making beads or even cleaning the house and stuff, I had to sit in front of the computer hoping there was something I could do. But NO! I lost a bunch of documents, all emails and precious photos. You would think that I would have everything backed up, but of course I was stupid enough and I didn't.

And it all happened when I decided to download the latest version of iTunes...

Productive weekend...

Well, now that my cat won't let me sleep past 6 AM (he might let stay in bed until 7 but definately won't let me go back to sleep), my days are longer and therefore more productive. This weekend, I got to spend quite a few hours at the torch and I came across a pretty sweet color combo. I made a bead set and a couple of focals using the same mix and the colors are just so wonderful... They're vibrant and really pop!

I named this set above "Impressionism"...
